What to build

Type: AFK.

Extend Technical Audit crawling so it can record internal-link evidence: broken internal links, shallow/deep crawl observations, and page-to-page link issues that affect SEO/GEO discoverability.

Acceptance criteria

  • Internal links are extracted from audited pages and checked within the configured crawl boundary.
  • Broken internal links and excessive-depth or orphan-like observations become normalized Technical Findings where evidence supports them.
  • Findings include affected URL or site-wide scope, evidence, priority, safe fix guidance, and verification method.
  • Tests are written first for broken links, same-host filtering, crawl depth, and dashboard output.

Issue #7 completion audit

Requirements checked:

  • Technical Audit extracts same-host internal links from audited HTML pages and fetches newly discovered links within the configured crawl boundary.
  • Off-host links are ignored and are not fetched or exposed in dashboard output.
  • Broken internal links and excessive internal-link crawl depth create normalized Technical Findings with affected URL, evidence summary, priority, safe guidance, and verification method.
  • Dashboard output exposes the new finding type through the existing normalized Technical Findings read model.
  • Tests were written first for broken links, same-host filtering, crawl depth, and dashboard output.

Verification on codex-server:

  • python3 -m unittest tests.test_technical_audit_worker.TechnicalAuditWorkerTests.test_technical_audit_worker_checks_broken_internal_links_and_filters_off_host_links tests.test_technical_audit_worker.TechnicalAuditWorkerTests.test_technical_audit_worker_records_excessive_internal_link_depth -> OK
